½ of all of them
Where do you live?
In a suburb of Columbus, Ohio called Westerville (It’s actually North of Columbus) I also say I live in Larry’s Bike Shop and Workout center.
Any athletic background?
I am a converted adult athlete, with no high school type athletic experience. I bicycle, run (plod), and some rollerblading and pool swimming thrown in. Weight workouts and yoga round out my fantasy athletic life.
My reality is much different for the last 1 ½ years as I am in Massage Therapy School. I try to get 4 short runs of 2-3 miles a week in, 1 or 2 1 hour bike rides, and one weight workout a week. No ultra riding lately.
Favorite or best achievement(s) on the bike or in other sports?
Saratoga 12 hr record holder, Finished Brevet series on Tandem, Finished Columbus Marathon 2006,and the ½ marathon 2007 and April 2008
Any future bike or other sporting goals?
It is hard to for me to think beyond finishing school. We’ll see what the future holds for me.
Any Ultra crewing experience?
R AAM will be the longest. Cross Ohio record 2007, Michigan 24 hr, Last Chance 1200, Sebring, Calvin’s, I have now mastered the Vulcan Shoulder Grip that is taught to the massage student that has been proven worthy. All of Larry’s success is because of my crewing, whether is was with him or not.(Larry added that part)
Why did you accept the crewing position for JS’s Solo RAAM attempt?
I didn’t know I had a choice?!
Anything intimidate you about crewing for JS’s Solo RAAM attempt?
Finding new ways to make him throw up.

If JS screams “MUFFIN!!!” at you at 3 a.m. what would you do?
I already have the Frank Zappa song, “Muffin Man” loaded in the iPod.
If you have crewed for or raced with JS before do you have a fun experience that can be shared?!?
The end of 2007 Saratoga 24 hr is one of many interesting memories. JS was leading Larry Ide for overall winner “by this much” for the final lap and we played Cat and Mouse with Larry. This is the event I made JS throw up on coffee and Espresso Hammer Jell overload.
